Defense Secures Victory for Raymond and Company. White Wins 7-0.

July 26, 2009

2009 NAS Champions!
Coach Raymond and the White team's physical defense held the Red team's prolific offense to 0 points.  Every time the Red's got near the endzone the White team would tighten up in a bend don't break effort by a defense anchored by Matt Billy from McAlester, OK.  Billy, who won the Defensive MVP of the game, was an Oklahoma All-State Selection.

Marty Old Horn from Hardin, MT took home the Offensive MVP for the White team displaying his high flying reception skills and showed why he was a Montana All-State selection.
Gale Jefferson from Lummi Nation School took home the Red team's Offensive MVP and displayed enormous football ability for an undersized receiver.  Jefferson took hits left and right and fought for yardage after every play.  Jefferson gave the Red team hope at the end of the game with a long reception, but an INT stopped the drive and the game.

Local boy Merlin Weaslehead (Colville) from the Couer D' Alene reservation showed up on game day ready to play.  He had 1 sack and 7 solo tackles 3 for a loss.

Josh Mouse was name the Game MVP.  He led the White team like a true General.  He had a crucial 1st down on 4th and 2, completed a bomb to Old Horn to setup the games only TD by Tony Washington, and could not be brought down with just one hit.  Mouse scrambled and threw like he had been in the offense for years.
